SPEEDER compliments AiCE by reducing scan time. AiCE intelligently removes noise resulting in increased SNR1 and enhanced anatomic detail. Harnessing the enormous computational power of a Deep Convolutional Neural Network (DCNN), AiCE is trained to restore low SNR MR data to match the properties of higher SNR images in a clinically reasonable scan time with SPEEDER.

6-echo 3D UTE data was acquired in 6:17 min. Subtraction images enable depiction of short T2 tissues. UTE T2* map can be generated for quantitative assessment1. Canon is the first to provide 3D multi-echo UTE sequence for qualitative imaging and mapping of tissues with ultra-short T2* such as tendon, ligament, and meniscus.

Canon’s SPEEDER was used to reduce scan time while using AiCE to increase SNR1 by reducing the noise. The increase in signal was then exploited to increase resolution and reduce slice thickness to provide detailed images.
