Canon Medical Systems Ultrasound Equipment

From craftsmanship to clinical excellence.

i-series Architecture

Aplio i-series' innovative architecture has been engineered to prepare you for the challenges of today, and the future.

Standard on all Aplio i-series systems.

iBeam Architecture

Three technologies that work together to cumulatively optimize image quality:

Multi-Sync Pulser:
Advanced technology for beam transmission.

Multi-Beam Receiver:
Enables wide area reception of signals.

Multi-Harmonic Compounding: Provides excellent beam processing power.

iBeam Forming

iDMS sharpens ultrasound beams in the direction of the transducer lens.

Intelligent Dynamic Micro-Slice (iDMS)

With Aplio i-series intelligent Dynamic Microslice (iDMS), the transducer elements are controlled separately to create a thin slice beam with continuous focus from near field to far field.

New Features:

  • New piezoelectric oscillator
  • New lens
  • New matching layer

New capabilities:

  • Small parts
  • MSK
  • Superficial scanning

Covers the same bandwidth as two conventional transducers.

Ultra-wideband Linear Transducer

Aplio's ultra-wideband i-series, provides superior sensitivity and resolution for both near and far field. The ability to use one transducer across a wider range of patient types can potentially reduce cost, while providing better imaging regardless of the patient condition.

  • New piezoelectric oscillator
  • New lens
  • New matching layer

Especially useful for breast imaging and MSK with the added feature of high-frequency Shear Wave Elastography

Multiplexing architecture allows parallel signal processing to handle huge data volumes with high speed.

Multiplexing Technology

The extraordinary powerful multiplexing architecture of the Aplio i-series uses parallel signal processing to handle extreme large volumes of data at high speed.

This opens a new world of possibilities, from comprehensive real-time Quad View for CHI and Shear wave to premium Elastography applications which require fast and independent processing power.

Enjoy the perfect picture.

iPerformance—Imaging & Applications

Each of Aplio i-series imaging technologies provide you with improved* image quality by reducing clutter, strengthening signal and improving visualization. All functions work hand in hand with other imaging modes for uniformity across all applications.

See the Unseen with SMI.

Superb Microvascular Imaging (SMI)*

SMI is a technology that expands the range of visible blood flow and provides visualization of low microvascular flow never seen before with ultrasound. Compared to conventional Doppler technologies, the advantages of SMI are high frame rates, high resolution, high sensitivity and fewer motion artifacts.

This gives clinicians a new way to reveal minute vessels when evaluating lesions, cysts, inflammatory diseases and tumors. SMI offers an efficient tool for fetal assessment and patient monitoring during treatment phase.

*Available on the Aplio i-series, 500 and 300 Platinum, Xario 200 Platinum

Allows clinicians to assess perfusion dynamics.

Contrast-Enhanced Ultrasound (CEUS)*

CEUS is capable of providing real time, high-resolution perfusion information and is one of the advanced technologies for differentiation of focal liver lesions. The contrast agents are microbubbles of a few micrometers in diameter and stable enough to circulate in the body with intravenous injection.

3D visualizations of anatomical structures in combination with vascular flow.

Shadow Glass*

Using this semi-transparent glass effect can help physicians assess different layers of tissue and position of vessels all at the same time. Shadow Glass combined with functional data may help to better understand pathology.

  • Combining tissue borders and vessels
  • Compatible with all color modes
  • Useful in Obstetrics and Radiology
  • Available with Mecha 4D & Smart sensor 3D
  • Shadow Glass with color
    • Superimposed B-mode and color imaging

*Available on i-series only

Acquire accurate 3D volumes with a standard linear or convex transducer.

Smart Sensor 3D*

By attaching a magnetic sensor to standard transducer positioning information becomes available. Precise volume rendering and accurate measurements can be performed including distance, angle and volume.

  • Sensor position tracking using the Smart Fusion technology
  • Gives accurate 3D reconstruction with precise measurements
  • Works in all modes including SMI

*Available with the Smart Fusion kit on i-series only.

Allows you to view live ultrasound images from multiple imaging modes.

MultiView allows you to work in multiple imaging modes including color Doppler and CEUS. This concise quad display with Fusion shows the live ultrasound image in sync with multiple views of the pre-loaded data.

A wide range of MultiView options* provide high-resolution cross sections, helping you to better understand anatomical relationships or the extent of a given lesion.

  • Sensor position tracking using the Smart Fusion technology
  • Gives accurate 3D reconstruction with precise measurements
  • Works in all modes including SMI

Designed with our users in mind.

iSense Design

Aplio's i-series iSense design can help boost productivity during daily routine exams as well as more most complex cases. It's smaller and lighter, design makes it easy to maneuver. With over 36 cm panel height adjustment, lateral slide and a fully articulating monitor arm, Aplio i-series helps you to optimally adjust the console to virtually any scanning position.

Take images and manipulate them later.

RAW data

Aplio's RAW data capability enables you to efficiently scan and acquire images (even on a remote access tablet) and then manipulate multiple image parameters, measurements and annotations later.

RAW data

Designed to meet the needs of users of varying heights seated or standing.

Height & Range

The Aplio i-series can adapt to nearly every clinical users situation with the ability to move low, high and everywhere in between.

Wide-ranging panel movement supports user in their daily practice.

Panel Range of Movement

The Aplio i-series supports global panel movements of 40° either direction for positioning, locking positions every 4°.

Local precise movements of panel when scanning Monitor rotation up to 383°.

Less time spent pressing buttons and more time scanning.

Panel & Intuitive Controls

Aplio i-series, large tablet-style touch screen with three interactive zones allows you to quickly browse and select the desired function, while the rest of the display remains unchanged.

  • Onscreen navigation
  • Intuitive key control
  • Optimized frequencies

Go wireless to gain better access.

Remote Access 2nd Console

Aplio i-series allows you to remotely operate the system from a wireless tablet. This is especially helpful during MSK and vascular exams where it can be difficult to scan a patient and reach the panel at the same time, without losing sight of the monitor.

The wireless tablet is also ideal for scanning in mobile environments, sterile situations and for infection control to protect the system from possible contamination.
