Air-Cooled Digital PET-CT

Cartesion Prime SP is the world’s first 100% air-cooled digital PET-CT system on the market.

  • The detector module for the Cartesion Prime SP is designed using highly-efficient, low-energy electronics.
  • The SiPM has a lower temperature dependency and operates in a wider temperature range compared to previous SiPM technologies.
  • A temperature compensation circuit is used to minimize the effect of temperature fluctuations on detector performance.
  • Using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Canon Medical have designed the gantry cooling to optimally distribute the airflow inside the gantry to reduce hotspots.

A chiller (water cooling equipment) can add additional costs to the initial system purchase as well as construction costs to build the needed infrastructure. Additional operational costs are often associated with using a chiller along with potential impact to revenue when a chiller fails.
