Corona Regional Medical Center Enhances Its Diagnostic Imaging Offerings with New MR and CT Systems from Toshiba

TUSTIN, Calif., May 18, 2016 – Patients undergoing CT and MR imaging at Corona Regional Medical Center will benefit from superior image quality, a better experience and safer exams with new MR and CT systems from Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. The 238-bed, acute-care facility and medical center selected the systems as part of an expansion to its facilities and a commitment to providing patients with the very best technology and care.

“Updating our imaging technology was an important decision and, based on our experience with Toshiba, they were clearly the partner that understood our needs and delivered tailored solutions,” said Randy Gray, director, Diagnostic Imaging/Cardiac Cath Lab, Corona Regional Medical Center. “We recently started scanning on the Titan 1.5T and we are seeing an estimated 20 percent reduction in exam times. That, matched with the noise-reduction and wide bore, gives our patients a better experience and outcomes. We are looking forward to bringing on the CT systems and their low dose imaging in the coming months.”

For its MR imaging, Corona Regional Medical Center recently installed the Vantage TitanTM 1.5T MR. The system offers numerous patient-focused features, including a 71-cm open bore that reduces patient anxiety related to claustrophobia. The industry-leading Pianissimo™ noise-reduction technology improves the MR experience by significantly reducing MR acoustic noise, while the M-PowerTM user interface is intuitive and easy to use, reducing exam time and enhancing throughput.

After evaluating the various CT systems on the market, Corona Regional Medical Center choose the AquilionTM PRIME 160 and Aquilion PRIME 40 to accommodate more patients in the radiology and emergency departments. The Aquilion PRIME is a scalable system that delivers high-quality images with industry-leading dose reduction capabilities, including AIDR 3D and XR-29 compliance for safer exams.
