A Thoracic and Abdominal Aortic CT Angiography was performed on this patient with previous right hip replacement. SEMAR, Single Energy Metal Artifact Reduction was integrated into the protocol and automatically applied to the scan. 3D Volume Rendered and Multiplanar Reconstruction (MPR) comparison show reduced metal artifact in the SEMAR images when demonstrating the right hip prosthesis. Diffuse calcification is demonstrated throughout the aorta and iliac arteries.
