TOSHIBA AMERICA MEDICAL SYSTEMS ANNOUNCES EDUCATIONAL ADVISORY BOARD

Advisory Board Demonstrates Toshiba’s Commitment to Medical Education

CHICAGO — November 29, 2007 — Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc., a diagnostic imaging leader, today announced the implementation of its new Educational Advisory Board, demonstrating the company’s continued commitment to improving diagnostic imaging education. As the only educational advisory board in the industry, the group will oversee all Toshiba education courses provided through the Education Center in Irvine, Calif. and advise on new trainings as new technologies are developed.

“With the partnerships established in this advisory board, Toshiba will be able to utilize valuable insights from industry leaders to provide the highest quality, most relevant education to the medical community,” said Sharon Yoon, director, Education and Sales Support, Toshiba. “Toshiba has a strong commitment to physician and technologist training, and we look forward to improving our already robust programs through this advisory board.”

The new advisory board will meet twice a year to suggest new courses to be developed, oversee courses in development and advise if courses should be introduced based upon new technologies and equipment developed by Toshiba. To strengthen the expertise of the board, the selected members include three radiologists, three cardiologists and a radiology administrator, all of whom are leaders in their field of study.

The members of the Toshiba Educational Advisory Board include:

  • Dr. Frederick Barnett, director of radiology, chief of staff elect Metroplex Hospital
  • Dr. Aaron Cann, radiologist, fellowship trained in CardioThoracic imaging, Georgia Radiology Research and Educational Network
  • Dr. Anthony DeFrance, medical director and primary faculty of CVCTA Education, interventional cardiologist, CVCTA Education
  • Dr. Peter Fail, director of cardiac catheterization laboratories and CT imaging for Cardiovascular Institute of the South, medical director of interventional trials for the CIS Clinical Research Corporation in Houma, La.
  • Dan Gebow, Ph.D., president, Digimedica CVCTA Education
  • Dr. Jon Robins, co-chief executive officer of Imaging Healthcare Specialists, medical director, Heart Imaging Center of Healthcare Specialists, president, Physicians Radiology Medical Group
  • Dr. Edward Shapiro, director of non-invasive imaging at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, professor of medicine in the Cardiology Division of Johns Hopkins University
