Upgrades Demonstrate Image Quality and Workflow Enhancements to Premium Ultrasound Platform
CHICAGO, Nov. 27, 2017 – As providers continue to expand their use of ultrasound to wider ranges of clinical applications, Toshiba Medical is showcasing upgrades (pending 510(k) clearance) across its premium AplioTM i-series ultrasound platform. The Aplio i-series is a highly advanced and scalable ultrasound solution made up of the Aplio i700, Aplio i800 and Aplio i900. The Aplio i700 and Aplio i800 are both ideal for radiology and shared service departments looking for outstanding imaging performance, advanced clinical features and superior comfort and workflow.
The Aplio i-series platform includes iPerformance technologies that deliver extreme processing power and help health care providers give reliable, quick diagnoses. The upgrade features a wider range of transducers and new clinical features:
The Aplio i-series provides intuitive ergonomics to boost productivity during daily routine and complex exams with iSense. New ergonomic improvements include a touch screen (TCS) tilt function, which offers a 14-degree upward tilt capability, and a mobile battery option for easier portable scanning. Additionally, the platform features iBeam, a beam-forming technology that optimizes both beam profile and efficiency, increasing penetration, spatial resolution and contrast resolution, while at the same time reducing artifacts and clutter.
“The Aplio i-series upgrade is set to deliver a powerful set of transducers and advanced tools that may change the way ultrasound is performed in a wide range of clinical applications. Our goal is to expand the clinical utility of ultrasound while improving performance and workflow by offering providers diagnostic capabilities that are cost-effective, less invasive and safe,” said Dan Skyba, director, Ultrasound Business Unit, Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. “We designed the Aplio i-series to meet the needs of health care providers today and offer the flexibility to upgrade as their needs change in the future, with a truly scalable platform.”
Toshiba Medical is showcasing the upgraded Aplio i700 and Aplio i800 ultrasound systems at this year’s Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting in Chicago, November 26 – December 1, 2017 (Booth #7330, North Hall B).
