Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT) Announces Recipients of 2014 Toshiba Young Investigator Awards (YIA)

Vienna, Va., Aug. 5, 2014 – The Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT) announces the recipients of the 2014 Toshiba Young Investigator Awards (YIA), which were recently presented at the 9th Annual Scientific Meeting (SCCT2014), held July 10–13, 2014, in San Diego, Calif. Supported by an educational grant from Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc., the Toshiba YIA Program is designed to enhance the research, writing and oral presentation skills of those who are within five years of completing a training program. In addition, the program may provide the catalyst for some trainees to become future thought leaders in the field of cardiovascular imaging.

“Toshiba is committed to understanding the needs of radiology residents and fellows, and we develop advanced imaging technology in support,” said Satrajit Misra, senior director, CT Business Unit, Toshiba. “Toshiba and SCCT are committed to supporting the development and education of the young investigators, as they are the cardiovascular CT imaging leaders of the future.”

Each applicant submitted a mini-manuscript of 1,000 words concerning research related to the technical and clinical advancement of cardiovascular CT. Five finalists were selected to give an oral presentation at SCCT2014. All five finalists will be granted a complimentary SCCT membership for one year. Of the finalists, two winners have been recognized. This year’s Toshiba YIA Program winners are:
