Systems Provide the Right Diagnosis on All Patients with Industry-Leading Depth and Detail

TUSTIN, Calif., June 16, 2014 – Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center has advanced its pediatric imaging capabilities by adding 10 AplioTM 500 ultrasound systems from Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. The facility is utilizing the Aplio 500 ultrasounds to perform high quality general radiology exams and outpatient services.

The Aplio 500 is Toshiba’s premier ultrasound system offering improved image quality that delivers industry-leading depth and detail with advanced visualization technologies, including Fly Thru. Cincinnati Children’s is exploring the clinical possibilities of Toshiba’s Fly Thru for viewing pediatric spines, newborn brains and the bladder. Fly Thru is an industry first that uses 4D ultrasound to “fly through” interiors of fluid-filled ducts and vessels for better exploration of lesions and masses, and to assist in the planning of interventional procedures.

“Toshiba’s ultrasound systems are designed to be user friendly and give clinicians a worry-free experience so they can focus on what matters most,” said Tomohiro Hasegawa, director, Ultrasound Business Unit, Toshiba. “For more efficient and precise exams, the Aplio 500 offers standard workflow tools, including Toshiba’s iStyleTM+ Productivity Suite.”

Cincinnati Children’s also utilizes several other Toshiba imaging systems, including the Aplio XG and Aplio MX ultrasounds, the AquilionTM 64 and Aquilion ONE CT’s and the KalareTM X-ray.”
