Toshiba’s Aplio 500 and Viamo Ultrasound Systems Offer a Worry-Free Experience with Accurate Diagnoses and Industry-Leading Depth and Detail
TUSTIN, Calif., Jan. 21, 2014 – The Arizona Heart Foundation enhanced its School of Cardiac & Vascular Ultrasound by installing eight Toshiba AplioTM 500 ultrasound systems and one ViamoTM ultrasound to educate students with the most advanced technology. The school will use Toshiba’s ultrasound systems for its 18-month cardiovascular ultrasound program. The potential for research remains priority for the foundation as well as the school.
“When we decided to purchase new ultrasound equipment for our ultrasound program, we were not just looking for a vendor, but a long-term partnership. That’s where Toshiba set itself apart from all other imaging companies,” said Paula Banahan, RN, BSN, CVNS, executive director, School of Cardiac & Vascular Ultrasound, Arizona Heart Foundation. “With Toshiba’s Aplio 500, our students have access to the latest technology with advanced visualization capabilities like Fly Thru. Additionally, the foundation is looking into the potential possibility of using Fly Thru for research in the carotid arteries.”
The Aplio 500 is Toshiba’s premier ultrasound system, offering picture-perfect imaging with advanced features, including Fly Thru. Fly Thru is an industry-first technology, providing a new perspective to 4D ultrasound by allowing clinicians to “fly through” interiors of ducts and vessels for better exploration of lesions and masses. Toshiba’s 2D Wall Motion Tracking provides stunning visualization and quantitative analysis of myocardial wall motion with accuracy and reproducibility. Additionally, Aplio 500 offers efficient and precise exams with enhanced workflow tools and ergonomics, including the iStyleTM+ Productivity Suite.
The Viamo is the industry’s no-compromise laptop-sized ultrasound system. Delivering outstanding image quality and penetration from the patient’s bedside to an operating room, the Viamo is equipped with the performance of Toshiba’s larger, cart-based systems.
“We worked closely with Arizona Heart Foundation to offer them a beneficial partnership and provide the latest technology to better prepare its students and the foundation’s competitive edge,” said Tomohiro Hasegawa, director, Ultrasound Business Unit, Toshiba. “Toshiba’s ultrasound systems are ideal for an educational setting with user-friendly features and intuitive user interface that can be customized for a variety of protocols.”
