Toshiba Installs 1,600th Vantage MR Worldwide

Winn Army Hospital Enhances Image Quality, Produces More Comfortable Exams with Titan 3T

TUSTIN, Calif., Aug. 26, 2013 – Injured soldiers returning from combat now have access to more advanced and comfortable MR technology with Toshiba’s Vantage Titan^TM 3T MR. Winn Army Community Hospital, a TRICARE military treatment facility in Fort Stewart, Ga., installed the system for general, musculoskeletal and body imaging. This acquisition marks the 1,600^th Vantage MR installed worldwide and the 500^th installed in the U.S.

“The Titan 3T produces the best images we’ve seen compared to other 3T MR systems,” said Brad Wilkes, MRI technologist, Winn Army Community Hospital. “The patient-friendly features, including the large bore, quiet exam, and soothing lighting and music, make it more comfortable for our soldiers.”

Toshiba’s Titan 3T has a 71 cm patient aperture, providing a greater feeling of openness. It is also the quietest 3T MR system available, as Toshiba’s exclusive Pianissimo™ noise-reduction technology reduces exam noise by up to 33 dB(A). For safer exams, the system incorporates Toshiba’s proprietary non-contrast techniques.

“Recently, we conducted an MR exam with one of our lieutenants, who asked if the system was on because it was so quiet. The noise-reduction technology addresses one of the major compliance issues in MR,” Wilkes added.

Winn Army Hospital also utilizes an Aquilion^TM Premium CT and a Kalare^TM R&F X-ray system from Toshiba.
