TOSHIBA CT ENHANCES PATIENT SAFETY WITH MITA’S SMART DOSE STANDARD

All New Aquilion CT Systems Include Industry-Leading Dose Features

 TUSTIN, Calif., March 13, 2013 – As a leader in developing low dose CT technologies, all new Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. Aquilion™ CT systems meet the needs of the recently announced Smart Dose standard from the Medical Imaging & Technology Alliance (MITA). Also known as XR-29, the new standard includes four key features that manage radiation dose without compromising diagnostic image quality.

MITA’s Smart Dose includes DICOM Dose Structured Reporting, CT Dose Check Standard, Automatic Exposure Controls (AEC), and Pediatric and Adult Reference Protocols. Toshiba’s Aquilion CT systems also meet MITA’s other standards, XR-25 and XR-26.
