TOSHIBA’S AWARD-WINNING CUSTOMER SUPPORT IS KEY TO 14-LAB INSTALLATION AT GATES VASCULAR INSTITUTE

Toshiba Installs 14 Infinix-i Vascular X-Ray Systems at Kaleida Health’s New Gates Vascular Institute

TUSTIN, Calif., May 29, 2012 – When opening a new hospital or medical center, partnering with the right diagnostic imaging vendor with patient-focused technology and a trusted, responsive service and support team is critical to meet the tight deadlines of bringing a new facility online. As part of its new Gates Vascular Institute in Buffalo, NY, Kaleida Health selected Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. to install 14 Infinix™-i vascular X-ray systems, which will be used for all cardiovascular, neuro, vascular and electrophysiology (EP) procedures. Toshiba and Kaleida Health worked closely together to install all 14 systems within three months, ensuring the vascular labs were ready when the new facility’s doors opened.

“Toshiba exceeded our expectations to ensure all 14 labs were installed and operational before the opening of our new Gates Vascular Institute,” said Jim Kaskie, president and chief executive officer, Kaleida Health and Great Lakes Health System of Western New York. “Toshiba’s ability to simultaneously meet the needs of our physician board and the construction team’s schedule is historic in terms of my experience working with a vendor. This was a great experience from beginning to end, and we hope this installation is only the start of our growing partnership with Toshiba.”

The diversity and scope of the Infinix-i product line allows clinicians to perform vascular, cardiovascular and neuro procedures with ease. The systems have unique characteristics that provide superior patient access and coverage, along with high-resolution flat-panel detectors that deliver superior image quality. The overall design and friendly ergonomics allow clinical teams to move better around the patient, see better and ultimately work better during diagnostic and complex interventional procedures.

“Kaleida Health is a best-in-class example of how we customize our approach and truly partner to the customer’s specific needs and timeline,” said Stephen Bumb, director, X-ray Vascular Business Unit, Toshiba. “Installing 14 systems within three months illustrates our ability to deliver exceptional service and support to our customers.”

In addition to these systems, GVI also utilizes Toshiba’s AquilionTM ONE dynamic volume CT system.
