TUSTIN, Calif., March 14, 2012 – Time is critical in emergency departments (EDs), and fast diagnoses improve treatment and patient care. To reduce exam times and increase throughput in its ED, Health Central in Ocoee, Fla., installed Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc.’s RADREXTM-i digital radiographic (DR) X-ray system.
“Toshiba provided our hospital with an X-ray solution that is reliable, intuitive and easy to use,” said Sherrie Quedenfeld, director, Imaging, Health Central. “With RADREX-i’s RexView, our technologists view images instantly at the system, ensuring we have the best possible image for diagnosis. Because re-scans have been reduced, we now see more patients – 80 to 90 cases a day, up from 60 on our previous system.”
RADREX-i is a robust digital X-ray system featuring numerous automated features, high-resolution imaging and RexView, a color LCD screen located on the overhead tube crane (OTC), giving technologists immediate access to review images. Automated features such as auto-tracking, auto-collimation, auto-program and auto-center stop reduce exam times and improve productivity and workflow, while placing users at the forefront of patient safety by reducing dose.
“Toshiba’s partnership with Health Central exemplifies how Toshiba works with customers to facilitate more efficient and patient-friendly exams,” said Stephen Bumb, director, X-ray Vascular Business Unit, Toshiba. “RADREX-i’s automated features are essential to a busy technologist, making it easier to conduct a wide variety of exams.”
Health Central also utilizes an AquilionTM 64 CT system and two AplioTM MX ultrasound systems from Toshiba.
