TOSHIBA TO SUPPORT THE EDUCATION OF THE NEXT GENERATION OF HEALTH CARE EXECUTIVES

Toshiba Becomes a Corporate Donor of ACHE’s Fund for Innovation in Healthcare Leadership

TUSTIN, Calif., June 16, 2010 – To help educate future health care leaders, Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc., is providing support to the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) as a corporate donor for the Fund for Innovation in Healthcare Leadership. Toshiba is underwriting scholarships to ACHE’s Executive Program over the next three years, enabling 60 health care executives to access education on leadership, innovation and management for the future. This year, Toshiba’s educational support will be used to sponsor both senior and midlevel executives.

“The next few years in health care management will be nothing short of revolutionary, and as leaders in our industry, ACHE created the Fund for Innovation for Healthcare Leadership to shape the future of the profession,” said Dr. Thomas C. Dolan, president and CEO, ACHE. “The contribution from Toshiba will provide important educational opportunities during these changing times, and enable future health care leaders to become architects of their institutions’ future and participants in the national health care dialogue.”

Specifically, Toshiba will be sponsoring 20 annual scholarships to ACHE’s Executive Program through 2012. The ACHE Executive Program is a series of two 2-day sessions and one 2.5-day session, spread out over the year in Chicago, San Diego and Orlando, and is designed to prepare midlevel managers for career and organizational growth.

“Toshiba’s sponsorship of ACHE’s Fund for Innovation in Healthcare Leadership demonstrates our dedication to developing future health care executives who are prepared to work with the rapidly changing health care market,” said Cathy Wolfe, senior director, Corporate and Strategic Communications, Toshiba. “This outstanding program provides an opportunity for Toshiba to invest in the future of health care by providing greater educational opportunities.”
