TOSHIBA NAMED TOP MEDICAL EQUIPMENT VENDOR BY KLAS

CT, MR and Ultrasound Modalities All Receive Number One Rankings

TUSTIN, California — July 10, 2008 — In the recently released KLAS Top 20: Best in KLAS Awards for Medical Equipment, Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. achieved three modality number one rankings and the overall medical equipment vendor for 2008. The Aquilion® 64, the Vantage™ 1.5T MRI, and Xario™ Ultrasound system received top rankings for their respective categories in KLAS’ Top 20 Medical Equipment Awards for 2008. This recognition for leadership in working with customers to maintain satisfaction demonstrates Toshiba’s industry leading product and service performance across multiple modalities.

“We are honored to receive the overall top medical equipment vendor recognition from KLAS,” said Larry Dentice, senior vice president and general manager, Toshiba. “KLAS has a long-established reputation of offering honest, accurate and impartial vendor performance information and it is gratifying to know that our commitment to excellence and innovation has been recognized by our customers. In a time where health care costs are carefully scrutinized and efficiency is paramount to both the patient and the healthcare provider, we remain committed to developing equipment and other services that meet the functionality and proficiency needs of our customers.”

The Aquilion 16 topped the newly recognized category “CT-Under 64-Slice” and the Aquilion 64 maintained the number one ranking in the “CT 64-Slice and over” category. Toshiba also maintained its top honors in MRI with the Vantage 1.5T. Additionally, the Toshiba Xario and Aplio Ultrasound systems finished number one and two, respectively, in the Ultrasound category. The success of all these products led Toshiba to attain the top ranking overall in medical equipment vendor rankings for 2008.

KLAS’ yearly Top 20: Best in KLAS Awards Report summarizes medical equipment performance data as reported by physician offices, clinics, IDNs, inpatient facilities and applicable healthcare agencies. A “Best in KLAS” ranking is given to each vendor who scores the highest position in its category. In 2007, Toshiba had more number one rankings than any other medical equipment vendor and was ranked “Best in KLAS” for CT, MRI and Ultrasound.
