Allows Clinicians to Accommodate Patients at Virtually Any Angle
RSNA Booth # 7114 (North Building, Hall B)
CHICAGO, Nov.30, 2005—Committed to meeting the diverse needs of today’s radiology departments, Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. (TAMS) today unveiled a unique room configuration for its T.RAD Plus product line—offering traditional radiographic systems and a removable digital radiography (DR) panel and adjustable PIVOT table. The new room configuration enables clinicians to overcome patient positioning challenges faced by radiography departments, while improving patient comfort and optimizing system performance.
The new configuration will be displayed in Toshiba’s booth (#7114, North Building, Hall B) at the Radiological Society of North America’s (RSNA) annual meeting, held Nov. 27-Dec. 2 at McCormick Place in Chicago.
“The key driver behind this new configuration was to allow specific components of the system to move independently, but in unison,” said Don Volz, director, X-ray Business Unit, TAMS. “This new configuration will provide clinicians the flexibility to position components rather than patients, which will significantly improve patient comfort.”
A key component of the configuration is Toshiba’s new PIVOT table, which features a unique rotating base that allows users to quickly move the table to the desired position when imaging patients.
Also available as part of the new design is a removable 14×17 inch DR panel that can be easily positioned to accommodate a wide range of patients. This unprecedented access to the patient allows for more patient-focused exams and reduced procedure times. In addition, the high resolution and post processing capabilities provided by the panel reduces retakes.
