TOSHIBA AMERICA MEDICAL SYSTEMS NAMES SENIOR MANAGER, RADIOLOGY CT

New Position to Support Toshiba’s Rapid Growth 

TUSTIN, Calif., July 28, 2005 – Further supporting the company’s successful CT business, Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. (TAMS) today announced the hiring of Joseph Cooper, senior manager, radiology CT. Cooper is responsible for developing and driving vital marketing messages, including the development of sales tools and internal/external education. The position was created in response to Toshiba’s steady growth in the U.S. market.

“Joseph Cooper has already proved to be an excellent addition to the Toshiba CT business unit, owing to his vast amount of experience, especially in the sales arena,” said Doug Ryan, director, CT business unit.

Cooper joins Toshiba after working with Siemens Medical Solutions USA since 1994. At Siemens, his positions included CT-PET CT product sales executive, where he lead record years in CT sales growth from 2001-2004. In addition, as senior CT applications specialist, Cooper was responsible for training luminary sites across the country.

Toshiba’s presence in the CT market has been growing steadily since the introduction of the AquilionTM line of multislice CT scanners in 1998. The Aquilion is available in 16- and 32-slice configurations. The most recent addition to the line, the Aquilion 64-slice CT scanner is the most advanced scanner on the market.
