As pediatric cardiac interventions became longer and more complex, clinicians needed better visibility into radiation dose distribution. Children with congenital heart disease often undergo multiple imaging-guided procedures throughout their lives, making long-term dose awareness an important part of their ongoing care.
In collaboration with the University at Buffalo, Canon developed its award-winning Dose Tracking technology, providing physicians with real-time estimated skin dose information during procedures. By continuously monitoring dose distribution, care teams can make informed adjustments and gain insight into cumulative patient exposure over time.
Real-time dose awareness, improved visibility into dose distribution, and enabling greater confidence in managing radiation exposure for pediatric patients who may require multiple cardiac interventions throughout their lifetime.
