History:
62-year-old male patient presented in the ED with chest pain for 2 hours and a history of hyperlipidemia. ECG and cardiac enzymes tests results were negative. With the purpose of ruling out coronary artery disease, pulmonary embolism and aorta artery aneurysm, a chest CT using a triple rule out protocol was ordered.
Findings:
Entire Chest CT Angiography successfully rules out Aortic Artery dissection and Pulmonary Embolism. RCA (Right Coronary Artery) is the dominant coronary artery and presented two non-obstructive mixed plaques in the mid RCA and a soft plaque is seen distal to this lesion. Nonobstructive, mixed plaques were found in the proximal LAD (Left Anterior Descending Coronary Artery) and proximal/mid LCX (Left Circumflex Artery).
Conclusions:
The ability to acquire diagnostic images, ruling out pulmonary artery disease, aorta artery dissection and finding three vessel coronary artery disease in a single exam with a single contrast injection, was made possible with the combination of Canon Medical Systems technology available with Aquilion ONE: SUREStart, real-time beat control with arrhythmia rejection and wide volume scan.

This is an ideal tool for tracking the Pulmonary and Aortic Artery simultaneously, essential for acquiring chest pain triage protocol, ensuring good opacity of both vessels and increasing diagnostic accuracy.
*In clinical practice, the use of the AIDR feature may reduce CT patient dose depending on the clinical task, patient size, anatomical location and clinical practice. A consultation with a radiologist and a physicist should be made to determine the appropriate dose to obtain diagnostic image quality for the particular clinical task.
