Healthcare Facilities Around the Country Are Providing Enhanced Oncology and Interventional Care Using Toshiba Medical’s Hybrid IR and CT System

Superior Clinical Capabilities of Infinix-i 4D CT Shown at 2017 RSNA

Toshiba Medical showcases the superior clinical capabilities of the Infinix-i 4D CT at health care facilities around the country.

CHICAGO, Nov. 28, 2017 – Healthcare centers around the country are realizing a new realm of clinical efficiency with the InfinixTM-i 4D CT system, which seamlessly integrates Interventional Radiology (IR) and CT. Toshiba Medical, a Canon Group company, will showcase the cutting-edge imaging system at this year’s Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting (Booth #7330, North Hall B). The system’s unique merging of the Infinix-i angiography system with the customer’s choice of either the AquilionTM ONE ViSION Edition CT or the Aquilion PRIME CT allows clinicians to efficiently plan, treat and verify in a single clinical setting.

The following healthcare providers are using the Infinix-i 4D CT system to help clinicians improve visualization and workflow:

  • Moffitt Cancer Center (Tampa, Fla.) uses the Infinix-i 4D CT for a variety of IR and oncology procedures. “With the new system, we can capture high-quality images more quickly than before without having to transfer patients between machines, which has allowed us to double our embolization caseload and significantly reduce wait times for ablations and biopsies,” said Grace Cabral, patient care manager, Interventional Radiology.
  • UnityPoint Health Methodist (Peoria, Ill.) uses the system to perform a wide range of interventional procedures, such as tumor therapy, embolization, arterial interventions, dialysis and stents. “We were looking for a hybrid lab to help us provide efficient care to our patients while prioritizing patient safety, and the Infinix-i 4D CT’s unique combination of the interventional lab and CT allows us to plan and treat in one room, without moving the patient,” said Dr. Jan Namyslowski, interventional radiologist.
  • CARTI Cancer Center (Little Rock, Ark.) uses the system for interventional radiology and oncology, as well as during liver ablations and kyphoplasty procedures. “Interventional radiology and oncology is born from innovation, and technology advancements like the Infinix-i 4D CT create exciting new possibilities and prepare us for the future of care,” said Dr. David Hays, director, Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology.

Additional facilities will be installing the Infinix-i 4D CT system next year. The system’s integration of IR and CT technology into one solution can help clinicians improve visualization and productivity, while prioritizing patient safety.

“The Infinix-i 4D CT offers clinicians excellent image quality, as well as the precision and flexibility needed to instantly verify intervention, potentially reducing the need for follow-up exams,” said Satrajit Misra, vice president, Marketing and Strategic Development, Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. “Additionally, the system offers a suite of dose management features, like Toshiba Medical’s AIDR 3D for simplified CT dose reduction and the Dose Tracking System, which is designed to help clinicians minimize X-ray exposure in real time.”
