Toshiba Provides 360 Degrees of Patient and Clinician Safety

Provides Customers with the Right Solutions to Improve Patient Satisfaction and Quality

CHICAGO, Dec. 1, 2014 – Toshiba puts customers first by providing 360 degrees of coverage, guidance and expertise to meet the ever-changing legislative, technological and business demands due to healthcare reform. From corporate programs that support industry safety to system features that protect patients and clinical staff, Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. makes safety a priority in everything it does.

Toshiba understands healthcare providers’ business and recognizes safety goes beyond radiation dose. With a fully comprehensive and responsive program, Toshiba considers every aspect of safety to meet its customers’ imaging needs:

  • Corporate Programs: Providing hospitals with resources and support to develop and improve patient care and safety programs, Toshiba and the Association for Medical Imaging Management (AHRA) established Putting Patients First, which awards grants to healthcare providers, totaling $65,000 annually.
  • Service: Toshiba delivers superior customer service and support, such as its e-Watch, which provides real-time environmental monitoring to ensure optimal system performance and limited downtime.
  • Education: Provides customers with advanced training for their imaging technology and guides them through the many changes of reform. For example, customers can submit diagnostic imaging coding and reimbursement questions through Toshiba’s Reimbursement Rx online portal and receive accurate answers from Panacea Healthcare’s certified experts.
  • Imaging Modality Features: Safety is incorporated into every system design to improve patient satisfaction, including dose management tools like the Dose Tracking System (DTS) for interventional procedures. Patient comfort is improved with larger CT bores and quieter MR exams with PianissimoTM. Operators can reduce errors and improve workflow with tools like iStyleTM+ Productivity Suite and Tech Assist to enhance operator safety.

“Navigating the new directives, payment models and quality measures of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) is a tremendous challenge for any healthcare provider, no matter its size,” said Nancy Gillen, vice president, Marketing and Business Management, Toshiba. “Under reform, reimbursement directly correlates with the patient satisfaction and quality of care a healthcare provider delivers. As a result, our customers are coming to Toshiba for answers about improving safety and quality and we are delivering innovative imaging solutions to meet their individual needs.”

Toshiba is showcasing its imaging solutions that make exams safer at this year’s Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting in Chicago, Nov. 30 – Dec. 5, 2014 (Booth #7333, North Hall).
