Vantage Titan 1.5T MR Delivers More Efficient Cardiac Exams
TUSTIN, Nov. 11, 2014 – To build leadership in the region for cardiac care, St. Mary’s Health Care System installed two Vantage TitanTM 1.5T MR systems from Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. St. Mary’s utilizes the systems to enhance its cardiac imaging program and for advanced imaging studies that include myocardial perfusion and stress MR.
“Toshiba’s Titan 1.5T MR systems have allowed us to push the needle forward by improving our cardiac services so that nearby cardiology groups can feel confident in referring their patients to St. Mary’s,” said Jeff Brown, R.T., director, Radiology and Cardiovascular Services, St. Mary’s Health Care System.
“In order to build a state-of-the-art cardiac imaging program, cardiac MRI capability is crucial, and Toshiba’s Titan 1.5T MR systems exceeded our expectations with image quality,” said Dr. Erick Avelar, medical director of cardiac MRI and CT, Oconee Heart & Vascular Center, St. Mary’s Health Care System, who started the cardiac MRI program in Athens, Ga. “Additionally, no matter the clinician skill level, exam times and operator errors have reduced significantly with Toshiba’s CardioLine.”
As the official healthcare provider for the University of Georgia Athletic Association, St. Mary’s also uses the Titan 1.5T MR systems for musculoskeletal and body imaging of injured athletes.
The Titan 1.5T offers patient-friendly features, including a 71 cm bore and feet-first exams to reduce claustrophobia. Toshiba’s exclusive Pianissimo™ noise-reduction technology, advanced non-contrast imaging, integrated coils and intuitive M-Power user interface make the system easier to use for the clinician and more comfortable for the patient. A Toshiba exclusive, CardioLine is a fully automated cardiac positioning alignment tool that automatically detects anatomical landmarks for accurate and reproducible positioning to complete alignment of six standard cardiac views without any operator interaction.
“Toshiba’s MR technology is uniquely designed to make patients comfortable while helping healthcare providers like St. Mary’s address business demands,” said Nancy Gillen, vice president, Marketing and Business Management, Toshiba.
