TOSHIBA INTRODUCES THE NEW VANTAGE TITAN 1.5T MR SERIES

Now Available in 8, 16 and 32 Channels to Meet Wide Range of Clinical Needs

CHICAGO, Nov. 28, 2011 – Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. introduces the Vantage TitanTM 1.5T MR Series. In addition to the current 16-channel system, Toshiba will offer 8-channel (works-in-progress) and 32-channel (WIP) systems. The Vantage Titan 1.5T MR series is a scalable solution with a full upgrade path from the 8-channel system to the 32-channel system, with high slew rate gradients, and is showcased at this year’s Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting in Chicago, Nov. 27 – Dec. 2, 2011 (Booth #5634, South Hall).

Toshiba’s new Vantage Titan 8-channel MR offers industry-recognized, patient-friendly features, including a 71 cm bore, PianissimoTM noise reduction technology, advanced non-contrast imaging, integrated coils with Atlas SPEEDERTM technology and an intuitive M-Power user interface, at a price point unmatched in the industry. This combination makes Vantage Titan 8-channel an ideal workhorse MR system for the majority of clinical applications.

For those customers who require enhanced cardiac imaging, the Vantage Titan line is easily upgradeable to a 32-channel system with high slew rate gradients, which enables higher spatial and temporal resolution, allowing for better images of moving anatomy.

In addition to these options, the entire Vantage Titan 1.5T MR line is enhanced with a new, modern, sleek exterior, including new covers and soft, patient-soothing lighting around the bore (WIP). A new patient transport gurney (WIP) increases throughput by enabling safer patient transfers as critical care patients are moved into imaging position without being lifted.

“With these new options to the Vantage Titan 1.5T MR line, hospitals now have scalable MR technology options to meet all of their clinical needs,” said Stuart Clarkson, director, MR Business Unit, Toshiba. “Now, healthcare facilities can acquire an 8-channel system today with the knowledge that it can be upgraded to a high-end 1.5T MR system that can meet future clinical needs.”
