TOSHIBA SECURES EXCLUSIVE FIVE-YEAR EQUIPMENT AGREEMENT WITH OHIOHEALTH

TUSTIN, Calif., August 21, 2006 — Further establishing its business in the Midwest, Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. today announced an exclusive five-year agreement with OhioHealth, a not-for-profit healthcare organization providing healthcare services to 46 Ohio counties. Under the terms of the contract, four award-winning OhioHealth hospitals — Grant Medical Center, Riverside Methodist Hospital, Doctors Hospital and Grady Memorial Hospital — and six diagnostic imaging centers will acquire more than 20 Aquilion™ computed tomography (CT) scanners — the most advanced multislice CT technology available.

OhioHealth hospitals previously utilized technology from several different vendors but now required an innovative system that delivered consistency across OhioHealth’s network of hospitals and imaging centers.

“This innovative agreement benefits our community and our patients by having state-of-the-art imaging closer to their neighborhood,” said David P. Blom, president and CEO of OhioHealth. “We’re very excited to be entering into this relationship with Toshiba, they have crafted a compelling value proposition that aligns with our cost leadership strategy. We feel confident this agreement will help allow our hospitals and imaging centers to better serve our growing communities.”

“We look forward to a long and successful relationship with OhioHealth, one of the top-rated integrated health systems in the country,” said Larry Dentice, general manager and senior vice president, Toshiba. “We are proud to be associated with OhioHealth and its long history of providing excellent patient care.”
